I just bought a 4 bolt rear for my galant vr4, the driver side axle is broke at the axle cup, I thought I could send it off to raxles, but come to find out he no longer does dsm axles, anyone know where I could send it for a rebuild or get the parts to do it myself?

I can try to get some better pics, I bought the 4 bolt from a buddy of mine and he left the axle in the next city over at his in laws house where the diff was at originally[DOUBLEPOST=1415063211][/DOUBLEPOST]
Can you post a pic of the rest of that axle, the tripod that goes into the cup?

Here's the best I can do for now, hopefully some good news

Yes, well, the GOOD news is that the axle isnt broken, as I suspected, its just a torn off boot. The bad news is that if the thing was ran that way when it was on the donor car for long, the tripod bearings will be damaged. Was there a lot of grease left in that cup on the diff? was there dirt in it? If there is a good bit of grease in the cup, no or not much dirt, AND all three bearings on the end of the shaft look clean and spin freely, you just need a boot, which can be expensive but JNZTUNING.COM can get them for you.

The car wasn't ever ran like this. The diff was from a part out and has been sitting collecting dust for at least a year. The boot was torn during removal of everything, there's still plenty of grease, and no dirt. How does it connect inside the axle cup?

It doesnt connect at all actually. It just slides in there. What youve got to do is replace the torn boot. Look at the silver clamps, one is on the shaft itself and the other clamp is on the cup. Remve these. In order to replace the boot you will have to remove the tripod from the shaft. If you look at the end of the shaft you will see a snapring. Remove this with a pair of snapring pliers and then sometimes the tripod will slide off the shaft but if not, youll need a puller.
Once you remove the tripod, you slide the new boot onto the shaft, pack it with new grease, slide the tripod back onto the shaft, replace the snapring and then slide it into the cup, pull the big end of the boot over the cup and reinstall the new clamps that come with the new boot.

Thanks a lot, not as bad as I was thinking it would be then.
