Whats up guys!

Well I have come across a local enthusiast looking to get rid of his 1993 Toyota Celica AllTrac.

I'm thinking about picking it up. Although, I don't know much about the platform besides that fact that its a bit rare.

I'm sure a few of my DSM buddies have worked/dealt with them before, so I was wondering if any of you guys could give me a honest take.

Don't get me wrong, I love DSMs, but having a nice AWD GT4 would be awesome.

Snag it! You'll never find another one!! I have a 93 corolla with a 3sgte and I love this motor. Not near as nasty as a 4g but it takes a beating! They are good cars man. I have had a few turbo mr2's as well. Its pretty responsive to mods and a stock celica alltrac will be almost right on par with a stock awd dsm. My rolla's 3s is fairly stock (mbc, exhaust, fmic) and it runs 13's if it hooks a little.

Most definitely grab it. Very rare. And Turbo magazine years back stated that the 4G63 was Japan's best 2 liter engine and that the only other engine that came to mind that might be able to provide as much performance was the 3SGTE.

It's an awesome engine. My buddy had one when I lived in Ohio. Hate to say it but he worked on his as much as I worked on my Dsm.

They man selling it has records from 1998 to present. He has taken great care of it.

Of course it does have some small issues, being almost 20 years old.

I'm going to drive it again and talk with him more. Hes super nice and actually has a few little sports cars he drives and works on.

He def. knows what he has. He has been wary about selling it only because he wants to see the car go to someone who will appreciate it.

After talking with him many times, he was willing to let it go.

So I think I may grab it while I can!

Seriously do it dude. You won't ever find another one for sale in the US. I've wanted one since i was 14 and I've been looking since then...

If memory serves me correctly, Toyota only brought like only 2000-4000 Celica All-trac to the States

Looks like ill be picking one up then. Expect pictures in a few days.

I'm pretty excited about it. The car needs work, but mechanically its very sound, there are 14 years worth of maintenance records in a binder to come with it. I plan on going through everything to see whats been done.

First mod with be wheels/tires, as its sitting on stock wheels with barely used winter tires that ill save for next season.

SWEET! i have a Camry All Trac, and would LOVEEE to do the turbo motor swap...but thats $$ my DSMs would love to have.

I pretty pumped!! Driving it around, felt like I was back in my old 1g. Just the pure rocket ship cockpit feel, and the pop-up headlights had me smiling the whole time.

It does...sort of.

To explain, the GT4 have TVIS system (something like that), that allows low boost in gears 1 and 2, and full boost in 3,4, and 5. So in 1 and 2 your seeing 4-6 psi, while 3, 4, and 5 your seeing 11-13 psi. She feels great all around, and has a good amount of pull on stock levels.


I've been really reading up on these cars. They seem to be a bit more complicated than a DSM.
