my car idles fine when i first start it up but after it warms up for awhile or i've been driving aroun the idle jumps to 2k and gradually works up to 3k. When i let off the gas it feels like its pulling it self and as soon as i depress the clutch the rpms jump to 3k and hold. After awhile the idle will return to normal but if i keep driving the problem eventually returns. It is quite embarassing sitting at lights with such a high idle but i'm not sure what the problem is..ISC,TPS..o2 sensor maybe? i need help

I have had that same problem for awhile now to. i just replaced my o2 sensor and it still doing it. my knock sesor needs to be replaced but i dont think thats the problem so if you figure out the problem let me know

The same thing happens to my Tsi, but I have an automatic. Are your cars running at normal operating temp too??? I've tried dinking around with the biss, and of course it didn't do a damn thing. Any suggestions???

I find these problems are usually related to one of two things: either a ISC motor going bad or leaking ECU caps.

yes my car is operating at the normal temperatures, and the BISS does nothing.

i need to test my ISC motor i'm sure it is that and thats probly pretty expensive..replacing parts sucks when your about to sell it :thumbdown

What is the ISC motor and where is it. I asked a freind who is also a dsmer he said it might be the idle positoining sensor or is that what the isc does

the ISC is the idle stepper controller. it is located underneath the throttle body and i believe it is beige(mine is anyways)

here is a good place to get a cheap rebuilt one with a warranty. http://www.crebotech.com/

ur throttle body might be getting stuck open? replace it...

when it starts doing it...

just go to ur engine bay and see if you can close your TB by pushing on the little gagdet (can't remember the name)
