Are the 3bt axle cups the same for the lsd rear end as the non-lsd rear end?

I picked up a lsd for my eclipse and cant get the axles installed... the axles that came with, the lsd:)

what a pita. The lsd diff came with axles, but no cups.

What side does the long axle go on?

From the FSM:

The drive shafts for models equipped with the
limited-slip differential are of different length and,
in addition, the right drive shaft has a two-part
serration; be very careful to install each one on the
correct side.

NOTE: The left and right drive shafts can also be distinguished
from each other by the identification color of boot band C.
Yellow = Left
Bule = Right

I don't think that was what he was asking.

As for your question. No you can't use LSD axles with a non-LSD rear diff (and vice versa).

However if you are going from 3 bolt Non-LSD to 3 bolt LSD, the cups should be the same.

If you are going from 3-bolt non-LSD to 4-bolt LDS then that won't work either. And if you are (and get the cups), make sure you are getting the right one. You can't mix Auto rear-end with Manual Trans (and vice versa) the final gear ratio's are different.
