This is just info for the people that don't know that there's a 3 point bar availible for the 2nd Gen Eclipses. I bought mine a while back from from Road Race for ~$90. I will post pictures later for those that are curious to see what it looks like. I also notice that there isn't really a 3 point bar in the "Parts Catalog" as well.

Are you talking about an upper strut bar or a lower subframe bar? (not sure what it's called but it goes underneath... yeah) I looked on their website but couldn't find anything of the sort.

He is probably talking about a triangulated upper STB, since the lower brace for 2G AWDs has only two points. Autocrossers beware: triangulated STBs take you straight to F/Prepared. And if you thought that the M3s and 1850# Civics in SM were fun, wait til you try the Porsches in FP.

Yes, I had to drill 3 holes into the metal.

Hey, it looks like an 'add-on' bar. Yeah, having that bar sticks you into another category for pakring-lot racing. For fun-day canyon runs I wouldn't really notice anything. It's RRE so it's a nice piece of solid metal.

I have a tri-front strut tower bar on another car I have, it's kind of a pain when you have to work around it, but it didn't cost $90 also.

im planning on upgrading the car's handling soon.
this bar looks good, however, is it better than the 2 point strut tower bar because it also bolts to the firewall? is it worth replacing the 2 point strut tower bar i now have with this one?

thanks

ok, i called RRE and they said that the bar is made to order and takes approx. 2 wks. its supp. cost a little over $100. for the 2g they prepare just the triangular bar that needs to be welded to your 2 pt. strut tower bar to make 1 piece that now also bolts to the firewall. its supposed to privide some additional stabilizing of the car.
