3 passenger window motors all bad???

When i bought the car the passenger side window was not working. So i went to the junk yard and picked up another one. Installed it.. Didnt work either.. So today I went back and picked up a third one. That one didnt work either. When I hit the button i feel something kick inside the motor but just for a split second then it stops.. Are these motors notorious for not working? Or am I just really that unlucky? thanks

Your just really unlucky. Also check the switch to make sure it's good. Most of the time when the windows don't work it's the switch not the motor. I'm in the process of trying to find a passenger side motor because my switch went bad and i thougth it was the motor and managed to destroy the one I had only to find out the switch was bad not the motor...oh well.

well i tried rolling it down from the driver side as well and it still wouldnt work.

Have you tried energising the motor with known good 12vdc power source? Do you have any kind of testing device to find if power is reaching the motors? (for a couple bucks you can get a light tester with an alligator clip on one end and a sharp point on the other to pierce the insulation).

yeah I tested and its getting power to the motor. all three motors are getting power

I'm wondering if the rail came off the track or if it got knocked and misaligned?

Has to be the switch. That happened to me in the driver windown. I though the motor was bad. But it was the switch in my driver door. (After testing the motor with a 12V source and a new switch. )
Lucky Me, I returned the motor back and got a refund.

No because. The driver switch has a cut off switch to control the passenger windown, remember?

Just get a new driver switch...

I thought the same thing, then I unlocked the button.

Check for broken wires between the body and the door. This can cause weird intermittant problems.

Ok do this. Take one of the motor you have. and hook it up. Leave it outside the door with no Windown attached to it. And test it. If it move the windown is getting stuck inside. If it doesn't has to be the switch. If you tried to help it, will it work?

Something like that used to hapened to my windown. it got in some how stuck.... then stop working. I changed the switch and kept working fine. (driver side)

BTW A little advice. I cutted the rubber (the one from the door trim) from the inside of the windows because it used to fold down and stop the windown (going down) all the time.

if there is power and ground to the motor, does the regulator(window lift assembly) move freely?

Ok.. it works now. whoever said it was the switch was right... I made a trip to u-wrench-it 4 times over this damn thing and its an hour drive there and back... unbelievable.
