I have a 95 Eclipse RS 5 speed and I have no power to the ECU. Car cranks but no spark and fuel pump doesn't kick on. I have no connection to the ECU, check engine light doesn't show at all.

I'm trying to find what pins send power to the ECU so I can test before just replacing the ECU and it not being my problem, plus my ECU has no markings or part numbers.

Will any 96 programed ECU work?
I'm new to them and really don't want to let it go but can't get it going again.

All help is appreciated tia!!

its probably a bad cam or crank sensor.
the 95 ECU has 1 connector instead of 2 like the 96-99 cars. The only ECU that you can use would be from another 95

The Automatic Shutdown (ASD) relay supplies battery voltage to the fuel injectors, electronic ignition
coil and the heating elements in the oxygen sensors.

The PCM controls the ASD relay by switching the ground path for the solenoid side of the relay on and off.
The PCM turns the ground path off when the ignition switch is in the Off position. When the ignition switch is in On or Start,
the PCM monitors the crankshaft and camshaft position sensor signals to determine engine speed and ignition timing (coil dwell).
If the PCM does not receive crankshaft and camshaft position sensor signals when the ignition switch is in the Run position,
it will de-energize the ASD relay.

if you need the engine wiring diagrams, i just posted them up

Thank you but it's not my cam or crank sensors, that was the first thing I changed. I'm not getting power to my ECU just trying to figure out what I should check to find out why.

I have checked out the ASD and fuel pump relays as well.

Oh, are you saying as long as the ECU Is the Same plug and is programmed it will work?

Sorry trying to pick up everything I can

I'm saying the 95 ECU has one large connector on it, but all the other years have 2 connectors. That means a 95 harness will only plug into a 95 ecu. There is no programming that needs to be done like on newer vehicles.

I don't know if you can use a 95 AT ECU (the engine control one, not the one controlling the transmission) on a 95 MT car.
On 98-99 cars with MT, both the AT and MT ecus will work.

Now if you like to play with wires, you could get a 2 connector ecu along with the connectors and wire it in. You could also swap in a 96-99 harness but if any of the connectors on the newer harness that don't match the ones on the 95 harness you would need to splice the old connectors on the newer harness or possibly change out the sensor or whatever to the newer style.

As far as power to the ECU,
it looks like ECU pin 14 (black/white) has power from the ignition switch

and ECU pin 51 (red/black) has power from Fusible link 4

ECU pin 12 (black) is ground

Sorry it's been a while since I been on I'll definitely check the power to the ecu thank you for your knowledge you've been helping alot

Ok so I've had the time to test the wires to power the ecu and they seem to be working fine so is my ecu bad I have no communication or check engine light at all the car cranks but has no spark or fuel changed the cam and crank sensor and tested the relays there good and getting power but not turning on also do I just need a new ecu?

Now I just need to know if that means my ECU is bad and I need to swap it out before I spend the money for it not to work.

I have no signs of a working ECU. I've changed all what I could think of besides the ECU and I have no check engine light even through the bulb testing stage and no rpm gauge movement when I turn it over, no spark or fuel.

thanks in advance just really want to get it going again.

I got it from my brother and started fixing what it needed and got a lot done for this to happen and I haven't even got to drive it much at all. tezt drove it after a few fixes then it sat for a couple days and had these issues come up. Seems to look like the stock ecu but no numbers or anything on it.

I need severe help so this car doesn't rot or I have to get rid of it

Any update? I have the same issue. OBD2 can't communicate with the PCM and I get no spark or fuel when I crank the engine. Planning to see if ASD relay work although mostly everyone who did that didn't had no changes
