Alright, i just bought a new 2Gb style Talon bumper cover to go on my 96' NT. Sweet. :D Now that I have it, I i have a load of questions too. I've decided I am going to do the prep work myself, so if someone could point me towards a website with good information on prepping a urethane bumper that would be greatly appreciated. Any other information would be appreciated as well.

Next, how much have you guys paid to get your bumpers painted? Just looking for a ball park figure here, I realize this will vary from shop to shop.

Finally, the guy I bought this from off eBay cut off the left side upper mounting pin things, ( i couldn't tell ya why) theres like a place on the back left top corner where it is flat with 2 pins that go into the fender I'm guessing-- Is this part completely necessary?? If so, I was thinking I could cut the missing part off my 96 front bumper and fiberglass it to the talon front end---Anybody think this would work, or should I look for another option- Let me know. :dsm:

I don't have any websites for pointers on prepping, but im sure if you searched google you could find something.

When i got my 2gB eclipse bumper painted it cost me $200 for prep, paint and to fill in the old mitsu logo with a urethane filler.

You could try to mount the bumper without those mounting holes, but that side might sag a little. The problem with fiberlassing the old peice, is the 2 different materials. Fiberglass is nice and rigid, while the urethane will flex. If you can get the fiberglass to adhere to the urethane, it will probably crack off fairly soon.

I'm sure you could talk to the body shop about some various options.

Yeah, thats a good point..maybe some kind of epoxy or somethen....haha the gears are turning inside my head as we speak....

I found my bumper from a local guy. I picked iy up for $100. It was in perfect condition, even had that little part in the main opening cut out.
