ok so i jus got my 97 bumper and 97 projecter halo lights to do the 2gB conversion. i took of my ugly 96 front end and started to install my halo lights. Unfortunetly the harness to the lights i bought dont match up with stock. so i started splicing to get them to work properly and no matter what i cant get my high beams to switch on and off. i can either not wire up the high beams or keep them on all the time. i wired up the halo light to the fog light switch so i can choose when i want them on since i dont have fog lights anymore. has anyone had this problem b4 im a noob at electrical stuff so try to explain like your talking to a retard. if you need me to explain my problem more just let me know. thanks......ryan :dsm:

ok... most headlights use 1 ground for both hi and low beams... sounds like you have the ground powered by the low beam and the highbeam + grounded to me out at the headlights....

but something is definately funky with your wiring and or the headlights.

Time for a multimeter continuity test with the bulbs themselves out and the wires from the car not connected...

Id each wire on the car and headlight and tag em with a piece of masking tape (so you can write what is what).

Then reconenct them one wire ata time testing as you go.

there a ground and a red wire on high beam and low beam. its really confusing. i tried every single way i could think of and still no luck. any other suggestions?

any other suggestions?

hey man i have the same damn problem. i switched to a 97-99 front end too, and i ended up gettin Sonar Generation 3 halo/projector headlights and my friend, who is an electrician, has NO idea why the high beams wont shut off. he tried every single thing he could think of, the only thing he can think of is that it might be a bad relay, which i have yet to try. so if you find out why it does this, let me know. and i will let u know too

Switch back to OEM head lights and you will be fine :thumb: instead of imitation parts that don't even plug up?

seriously... if you can't figure out how to wire them after comparing their wiring to an OEM headlight... get help from a local stereo electrician or something... not an 110V AC electrician.
