Alright, youve all probably seen these threads quite a bit but i still wanna ask this once again. How reliable is the 2gb eclipse gsx, and 2g talon awd tsi. I used to have a 1.8L 1g dsm and it was very cheaply made and rattled, but was amazingly reliable engine wise. I bought a jeep wrangler after owning the talon...and now i miss the quick cornering of the little dsm, so im thinkig of buing one in the near future. Ive been pretty sketchy about the whole turbo thing becasue that means more shit to break, but i dont want a slow n/a 4 banger. Gas milage is involved too, thats why im not going after a mustang cobra. Ill be going to collage in a year and will take the dsm there, and dont really want to fix it 24/7. Idont care about maintenance stuff, thats usual. I care about the whole head gasket deal, tranny/transfer case seals, rear ends axles...al the stuff that i can fix but i dont want to becasue ill be in skool. Also im planning to modify it, maybe a small 16g with a fmic, exhaust, 660cc injectors and a better fuel pump.
and any suggestions on what to look for in a used dsm would be nice too!!
