Hey guys
I'm buying a 2G with a 1991 6bolt engine in it. The person that I am purchasing from said that it has a misfire CEL and that it "required DSM link" to fix. It seems to me that I've read that this can happen with a 6-bolt in a 2G, but I don't remember what the cause is. I could be completely wrong too. Does this ring any bells with anyone else?

Also, is there anything in particular that I should look for on a 2G that has a 6bolt in it? I haven't looked into the swap before as I didn't plan on doing one myself. I feel pretty good with what to check for in general, but I am not sure if there is anything in particular to look for with the 6-bolt swap.

Also, does anyone know if the Apexi BOV flange is compatible with any others that recirculate? Greddy, 1G, anything that doesn't have to vent like the one that is currently on there.

Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks guys.

I Like their fix. Saves me from spending on DSMLink just to try to get it inspected :p

Much appreciated
Thanks!

The barometric sensor mod doesn't always work. It didn't for me anyway. I had to carry around a palm pilot to clear the misfire code because everytime it came on, it would retard the timing and make my engine run like crap. I have noticed that it depends on the CAS or the wiring job. I replaced the CAS and insulated the splice a bit more and it's been relatively good. I upgraded to DSMlink as well so I'm definitely never getting it again.

I see. Some members from another board convinced me that it would be safer to drive home with the TPS disconnected if I need to and run "a little bit rich" than to throw the potentiometer in there. I will have my laptop (logger) with me though, so I suppose I could just clear the code if I needed to. The seller says it happens roughly once per hour on the interstate at 70mph and that if you come to a stop and then go again it fixes itself *shrug*

Thanks guys
