My car: 1997 Eclipse Spyder GST

My problem: Idle Surge at start up

Item checking: TPS

Question: I'm checking my TPS and I'm testing the ground and the power terminals. (1 and 4) my readings are coming back at 3.957 k-Ohms. So according to my book, I'm good.

But when I'm testing 2 and 3 terminals..... The book tells me to slowly adjust the throttle and th ohm readings should change accordingly.

But..... When I do this, my ohms shoot up off of the ohm reader's capability. I beleive it goes above M-ohms.

Is this a sign of a bad TPS?

Any input?
