I have a question about the SAS screw behind the throttle body. I've been trying to track down some occasional idle problems that I've been having(dropping 2-400 at stop lights, vibrations in cabin, etc), so I've been looking around my engine. My idle is usually anywhere between 500-1000, dropping lower when i brake soon after starting the car. I've replaced my vacuum lines, checked for leaks, etc, but I actually just noticed that my SAS screw is completely missing!
Any ideas what, if anything, my car would/wouldn't be doing without this screw? Any chances this could be related to my occasional idle problems? I looked at the 2G BISS adjustment FAQ and I noticed the SAS was mentioned, so I figured it may be related. I don't always have idle problems, but they are frequent enough to be annoying. Thanks!
Also, if it is necessary, is there any idea what size/type of screw/bolt it is? Something I could hopefully pick up at a hardware store.
Some additional information if needed - I had these problems before today, but today I replaced the plugs with 4x NGK BPR6ES as well as Accel wires. I also did a Seafoam treatment through the TB (yes, before I changed the plugs)
These seemed to help a bit, but its still there intermittently.
