2G: Reverse Lights with an Auto Harness in a 5-spd car.

This is how to get your reverse lights working in your 5-spd 95-99 gst/gsx with an auto engine harness installed.

This is all possible from help from Gofer! Thanks again!!

So first off you need to have the pigtail for the reverse switch.
*The wiring colors may vary, my stock (97) wiring was Orange w/Blue stripe and black w/white stripe. The wiring color from a 95-96 pigtail was Green w/Yellow stripe and black w/white.
** The wires will need to have a spade connector on each end.

Once you get the wires into the cabin, you will need to remove the radio bezel to get the the Large Blue connector behind the radio.

With the male end of the Large Blue connector you will need to remove the plastics keeper on the back.

Now hold the back of the connector facing you. The two pins will be added to the Bottom Left of the of the connector (pins 21 and 22) black will go into 21 and Orange* will go into 22.

Once they're inserted put the wire keeper back. Plug the Large Blue connector back in and re-connect the positive of the battery and test!

Your reverse lights will work like they should!

*** If you need the spade connectors I have a few left.

Sorry to bump this 13 years later. But I'm doing this right now. Where did you source your "spade connectors" or "pins"? Looking to do this soon but I don't want to accidentally destroy a pin taking it out of the connector trying to figure out. I already have my pigtail. Thank you for anyone who can answer this for me!

The 2 pin connector is an NMWP series, 2F, Black, which is keyed differently from the grey ones on the knock sensors. I don't know what spade connectors he used, but that connector looks like a Yazaki, and I think I may have the exact terminal for it.
