Hey guys, so a friend of mine is wanting to rebuild his seven bolt and after he totaled it all up it's gonna be up wards of $2,900 just for parts. I tried to tell him he doesn't need some of the things he wants but he thinks I'm wrong so I wanted to put his parts list on here and let him see what yall thought. Oh and his power goals are like everyone else 350-400whp. Thanks for any input.

Theres a few people selling 6 bolt blocks already bored on ebay for cheap, one went for 200 dollars(it was bored .020 over hot decked and painted). This is just my two cents and it might help your friend save some money and avoid crankwalk.

i wouldnt even mess with the 7 bolt just go with the 6bolt swap. This would be the best for the money and most sensable thing. you can find them pretty easily...

Well for one thing I wouldn't run that high of a compression ratio cause if you get into boost then you are gonna have some major issues with knock if you don't have it tuned perfectly. Also if he is gonna rebuild the 7 bolt don't use clevite main bearings. They aren't as good as what you might think, and they might help that horrible crankwalk issue that some of us know all to much about. Just my .02

Just glancing at the list, the forged internals are a good choice.

Underdrive pulleys for $470? Forget about it and run stock ones. That is way too much money.

Just get a stock crank also, you don't need a machined one.

They arn't as good but they might help CW. If something helps CW then in my book it is good. I did not know if that was a type or not?

For that much money I would look into a stroker.
