2G react well to bolt-ons

Hi guys, new here. Looking to possibly buy a 2G Talon or Eclipse AWD. I've looked through all the FAQ's and such and did searches but fell short for my answer. On a stock 2G, how are the gains with a complete turboback exhaust system? And on a stock 2G, removing the cat and replacing with a straight pipe yield better gains? Thanks!

3", no cat, that is average.

First mods should be:

Intake+hard pipe
Turbo back exhaust
Boost Controller
UICP
Throw away T25

I'm not sure about that. Perhaps if you open up the intake tract as well.

anytime you increase the flow and efficiency of air coming into/going out of the engine will give you some sort of increase in power. be it throttle response, acceleration or faster spoolup. if you were to do a full 3" turboback system your spoolup would be almost 2/3 quicker than the stock system. add a intake filter, hard intake piping+intercooler piping to make the intake side flow more efficiently and you can definately feel an increase in youre ass dyno. as far as real gains, maybe 15hp. but your powerband will start a whole lot earlier and last longer than stock, so that 15hp wont just be 15 peak hp gain, more like a 15hp net gain through the whole board.

Yes any DSM reacts extremely well to bolt-ons.
