Resolved 2G need a constant power source

ok i want to cut the cigarette adapter off my 3 plug adapter and wire it to something under the center dash cause it looks ugly in the spot by the shifter. I want it to be concealed, I need a power source that is on when the car is on which should i use i think i might be able to use the cigarette lighter but i don't want to chop the connectors off any suggestions? thanks in advance

go to autozone...they make little connectors that you snap onto a wire and it splices right in without cutting the wire...then u just plug right into it..presto!..ask the dudes at autozone if u cant find em

Well if it doesn't draw too much power then you could tap it off the lighter, the stereo, and if it does draw a lot of power then right off the battery. Remember, any time you splice/run power wires always fuse them!!!

At the stereo, the constant 12V is the red/black wire, and at the ignition harness it's the solid white wire. I can't really recommend tapping of the ignition harness tho, if you messed that up there is so much that could be shorted out.

Also, before you tap it, double check (or triple check) the wire to be sure its the constant 12V, when splicing you always want to be sure. You never really know what the previous owner or a jerkoff mechanic might have done to the car, so just double check so you don't burn the car down .
