This is concerning transmission and TCU compatibility. My roommate has a 98 Spyder N/T A/T (2.4L Mitsu Engine) and her transmission is shot. THe model numbers between the turbo A/Ts and the Spyder N/T A/Ts are different by one number. By looking up on some of the A/T FAQs, I have determined that this particular difference is referring to perhaps the torque that the transmission was designed for. I am fairly sure that the converter/transmission will bolt right up.
My questions are :
Do I need to change the TCU as well, if I go to a turbo transmission?
Can I mix the older torque converter with the used turbo transmission I pick up? Or should I only get a transmission if it comes with the converter?
What other options should I consider?
