Does anyone know of anyone who makes a manual steering rack for a 2g. We arent running powersteering on our project car and what a manual rack. If not I guess we will just plug power steering hoses in the rack and do it that way.

Never seen a manual rack for a 2g. There was a link posted awhile back to a miata board where they took apart a power rack and drained it completly and took out some of the seals for less resistance.

Don't plug the hoses just loop them together.

Pretty sure there manual racks available for the 2g cars. Finding one will probably be about as east as winning the lottery.

They came on 95 model base eclipses (even less trim package than an RS). Power steering was an option on those cars. The base model eclipses didnt even have a tach!

Check some yards out, maybe you'll strike it rich!

Can anybody else confirm this^^^? I have been searching for a manual rack for a while and this is the first time I hear of this.

To SpoolN: PS racks and manual racks have different gears and it will be VERY hard to turn the wheels if you just have a PS rack with the hoses disconnected.

Thanks for the concern this is a 100 percent track car. There are pics of it http://pub30.bravenet.com/forum/2550218796/show/1024294. Turning will not be that big of a concern!:thumb:
