to start off i got one of those conversion harnesses ( the 2g maf plug on one end and the 1g maf turbo plug on the other end ) ...also i chopped off a 1g turbo plug from a 1st gen eclipse.

i have a 2g maf and i need to hook it up to my 1g n/t wiring harness..thing is 2g maf has 7 wires and 1g n/t has 6 wires... i took a look at all the wires and i matched up all the wires that looked exactly the same.. should i just connect all those together ? also there is still one wire left, it's green w/ a white stripe.... what do i do w/ it ? leave it like it is ?

1G TEL
1 - GW 2 - GL 3 - R 4 - GR
5 - NONE 6 - GB 7 - GY 8 - GO

Wire use according to the ECU wiring diagrams, 1G
1 - Idle position switch 5 - None
2 - Air flow sensor 6 - Ground for sensors
3 - MPI control relay 7 - Barometric pressure sensor
4 - 5V power supply for sensors 8 - Intake air temp sensor

do i need the idle position switch wire hooked up ?

if so how do i get that to work ? i have a non turbo wiring harness..?

i have no idea the problem your having, but I was just reading this thread, im sure these guys can help you. Apparently you will have to add 1 wire from your MAF wiring harness to your ecu.

The two wires that you would be adding to your harness is the 7th wire for the MAFS, and the knock sensor wire. The knock sensor has two wires(ground and signal) The ground you can ground to the chasis of the car, and the signal you can feed through your firewall and add to your harness.

here is the link to the thread.
