2g Leaky bov?

So i have a stock 2g bov. The other day i was driving down the road accelerating to 40mph and when i shifted to go into 4th gear i felt the car jerk, and noticed it wasnt boosting like normal. So i check for loose hoses and vacuum lines and found nothing. I checked the outlet of the bov where it connects to the recirc tube and found that it was leaking air under light steady throttle (was pulling the throttle cable and holding it steady) could i have blown the seal on the valve itself?

Sounds like the gasket, spray some soapy water & see where it bubbles.

Might have a ripped diaphragm inside. Take it off and suck some vacuum on the vacuum port. If it hold the diaphragm is good, if not, then it has a rip & needs replacing.

Its a stock 2g bov so it just sits in the upper ic pipe with a piece of rubber and a hose clamp to hold it down. I didnt find any bubbles coming from there. And the bov holds vacuum. I think im just gonna order a evo 9 bov and call it a day.

They leak that's why we all swap them out. Invest in a new setup like hks, tial or npr which would require a new flange to match or evo bov for direct swap.
