Almost got confused as to what you were doing and then realized you were adding LEDs. Well for just the extra set of lights the circuit card/board isn't needed right? I mean if I have it all on the same circuit they would just be both (all four) low beam and then high beam when I kick them on right?

Oh yeah, its extremely easy. Especially if you get everything from the retrofit source. Its literally plug and play (a little oven, a little dremeling, very minor) the hardest electrical part is finding space to mount ballasts etc...

I just got a little carried away and im paying the laborous price for it .

I emailed the owner/admin of retorfit source, he suggested I run 2 of their wiring harnesses instead of splitting one. It wouldnt take too much effort to do anyway, and they come with the kits.

The high output ballasts do draw a lot of current. I am sure you could get away with splitting one up, but why risk it. especially at the marginal cost of like $30 for another wiring harness.

Anyone know about the stock foglights on a 95 gst if i can get hid for them. What is the bulb #?

HID bulbs alone will certainly melt that little thing. You are looking at another retrofit there.

Just get some bright ass 3k bulbs and get it over with. they will go well with the 13k ultraviolets up top. dont forget to do 10^-3 k infareds for the high beams. you want to be sure you have every spectrum covered for optimum visibility.

Awesome so just wire it just like my others, I may consider upgrading my alternator to a higher output to help with the current draw (I'm running different ignition coils).

Don't worry about that. its not necessary. unless you plan on running a killer sound system.

Retro is the way to go.

A quad retro might be doable on a 2G but you need some very small projectors for the high beam as there is not a lot of room. Maybe Morimoto Mini H1s?

Check out some of my threads, I've done 3 retros on my Talon. The first two were failed Quads while the 3rd is using TL projectors (big but one of the best projectors).

These guys are exactly right with stating that a drop in HID kit is no good and will blind others more so than letting them see you so its not one of the greatest ideas...

But, that doesn't mean you should drop the idea. A properly designed HID Retrofit Kit is what you need to look into. When set up correctly, you will be amazed at just how much more you can see in the dark versus using standard Halogens.


Be prepared for A LOT of research and changing your mind on what Bulbs/Projectors to use multiple times. But in the end it is totally worth it...



Check out Examples of Headlight Retrofits from The Retrofit Source Inc for some examples of retrofits people have done. Also, check their forums because they will have all the info you need on any questions you have about HID's.

I retro fitted my 2gb with morimoto h1s and I'm never going back. As stated above please do research before just sticking HIDS in stock housings. Check out hidplanet.com it will give you the most info on proper lighting

Same here my first retro was the Tsx projector in a 2g. The light output was great. Ever since then every car I've owned I've done a retrofit. I'm currently doing an FX-R retro in my 12' accord and the light output of these projectors is just amazing!! Specially with the 55w 5k bulbs.

The mini h1 is easy enough to install that anyone could do it.
