anything over 5k on a DAILY DRIVER is stupid.
on a show car i can understand the coolness factor but everyone loves telling other people what looks good and what doesn't but at the end of the day its not your car.

not everyone can afford a legit retrofit. if it was affordable everyone would have them and the world would be perfect.. not the case. a china hid kit will work GOOD in a PROPERLY adjusted headlight housing. do most people care,no. does it take 5min to do it ,yes. thatch the #1 problem, unadjusted headlights.

most people dont understand that a regular halogen headlight reflects light in a certain direction/pattern and when a high intensity discharge light is introduced it distorts the light output which blinds oncoming traffic. a cheap clear headlight housing will help but like i said adjusting the headlight is them main thing.

those "angle eye projector" can be 5x worse than just a regular hid kit, caused by the stupid frosted glass projector that's usually always uneven and then you have the "projector cutoff" that's just a piece if bent up aluminum riveted in the housing. im just sharing my experience.
if you can ask him for cutoff pictures and a picture from behind the inside of the projector so you can see the shield or maybe you know someone with them and they look good then your set.

im my 1ga ive gone threw a basic h4 hid kit in a clear housing (4.5k,5k,6k,8k,10k ive gone threw almost the whole color spectrum and some like pink,green,red yadda yadda) minimoto h1, ebay projector, cts v projector and so many more because i love lights but the last and BEST set i had on my dsm was a corvette retrofit.. the most crisp cutoff i had with the perfect balance of light output.

so ill end my stupid rant like this.

hid kit in a stock headlight is a no no but everyone does it so please adjust them.
retrofits are the best route but $$$
color charts are a joke! 4.5k from here will be labeled 6k there and 8k here will be labeled 6k there.

its stupid that people bash each other on here. we should try to help each other. if someones ordering 304494k hids because everyone else is, they probably dont know any better and we all know most people dont search.

sorry for the stupid rant, i just want to help some people and im having a family emergency and this hospital sucks so im trying to get my mind off things.

if anyone needs help with looking for a kit/wiring it up/harness/relay install or just any questions hit me up. trust me i dont know EVERYTHING but 12yrs in lighting i learned a bit. =]

I hope you're talking about retrofit, as in cutting up the OEM housings to fit the projector and THEN the bulbs you just linked to. Those bulbs should never be used in a reflective type housings (OEM is a reflective housing) -they need a projector housing.

Ok so after all this... can anybody please post a picture of their stock headlight housings retrofitted with the projectors? I was about to order the HID kit off ebay but I decided to search here first. And since everyone is saying that retro fit is better for HID's... how about those $60-$70 bulbs at Autozone or wherever they are.

eBay hid lights are trash.. You get what you pay for as they say. Here's some pics of a legit hid retrofit that a guy I know does for my (and others) platform (avenger)

Edit - lights on eBay aren't bad, but as everyone said its pointless without doing the hid retrofit (an actual projector housing).

this is BS. it only costs $180 to do this half assed right (projector housing, bulbs ballasts) and you rice cakes are still just throwing bulbs in your reflector housings.
I've got 4 times that wrapped in my non-bolt on conversion and plenty of headache to match.

I honestly dont care. the same turds dropping bulbs in are the same fruit loops that are getting these fruit cake ass colors. I laugh everytime I see a purple spotlight car with more light in the housing than on the road. I know they cant see shit, and they think they look cool. WTF

Im gonna laugh when those bolt on $180 projectors go extinct just like koni yellows for 1g cars, because too many jerk offs are going for (ugly)form over function.

That's just it, would I need two projectors (per headlight)? See I've already retrofitted mine on the 9006 bulbs (low beam) but not the high beam 9005 bulbs. Like I said I've already done the retrofit for only the low beams...

I was just curious since we don't have Bi-Xenon headlights.

Both. They fit in the original housing (mine do) and the normal adjustment tools on the headlights will adjust the position (as desired).

Thanks!! The only part that needed trimming was the black part that attaches to the lense since the shroud I got was a little to big. But other than that they fit right in. The projectors come with a lock ring that holds them to the original reflector which makes it a nice snug fit.

Now that's the answer I'm looking for, no offense moonlight. I know how to do it I just know there is how many different shrouds and am sure there is some you have to trim more then the other.

Thats the same one I used to get me started on the retrofit. It was a very helpful thread. I used the same shrouds and that's why I had to trim the lense. If I used the shourds that came with the projectors I don't think I would have needed to trim anything for them to fit.

yeah, bore out the hole to fit another pair of mini H1 projectors form the above sourced placed.

You will find that these projectors are "bi xenon" which have a little flap (called the cutoff appropriately) which (you guessed it) flaps "up" (actually down... lets call it "open") so that there is no cutoff and super focused light goes everywhere. there becomes no need for headlights.

My retrofit involves a pair of these "bixenon" projectors on each side. so thats 4 lights for lows that flip 4 flaps to make 4 high beams.

You can flick them all you want and never burn out a bulb.

Idk if it would even fit but for me, the matchbox series projector barely fits in a 1gb high beam slot. (=should fit in your slightly larger HB spot). If you are stuck with matchbox and cannot get the Mini H1 in there, I would reconsider because then it becomes more of a cosmetic mod. The additional light output from a matchbox projector is marginal and hardly worth the $300 extra and effort. I just wanted something crazy....

You've got all four done. Nice, are they all wired similar to the tech post? Not going to lie, the lighting must be immense with all that light (4 HIDS all at once).

It could be done but it really isn't needed. I barely use my highbeams since just the lows are bright enough. I've seen it done on a few other cars(not dsms) but it was probably done just for looks.

Its a work in progress. DAMN CUSTOM SHROUDS. I wish 3d printed abs would hold up. The only holding factor is my learning curve in CNC design. Which im getting the hang of. which reminds me I need to do a little updating.

Light output is really nice. the smaller inner ones supplement the center light concentration nicely.

I hope to have them done in a month or 2.

I just cannot fake, that shits hot^^^^ functional and sexy.

I got my inspiration from here (well, I thought of it myself, then used this dudes model as a progress track, I did steal his coke can reflector for more red idea.)

It was just double the wiring, all the same.

Almost got confused as to what you were doing and then realized you were adding LEDs. Well for just the extra set of lights the circuit card/board isn't needed right? I mean if I have it all on the same circuit they would just be both (all four) low beam and then high beam when I kick them on right?
