No, who told you that? That would be awesome, and you would see everyone using them in their cars. But the answer is no, 272/272 duration cams are only aftermarket.

.. If i remember corrctly that is whats in the car right now.. Would that be my missfire at idle and bad gas milage?

No. Check for vacuum leaks or a bad o2 sensor.

So if this car does indeed have 272 cams in it, then they have to be aftermarket forged/hardened cams? I know a couple valves are leaking a little bit.
