2g DataLogger?

I am aware of the fact that the 2g logger wont read knock but i was wondering from what it does read if you cant tell your knocking?...For ex. If the timing starts to retard can you tell your knocking..or anything with the timing or something..im just now gettin into tuning so i have alot to learn so i would app. any help!!

Also is my only option to read knock a DSM Link? or is there somthing i can do before i get the money together for the link?

Yea, the only way to 'read' knock on 2gs besides DSMLink is to just guess by looking at the timing curve. When it dips, its starting to knock. You can actually hear and feel the ECU pulling timing if it knocks too badly. Just tune around your fuel trims and try to keep a smooth upward sloping timing curve.

Alright man I though that was a possible way to check..its too bad 2g's cant read it like the 1g's but oh well...thanks for the help..
