Hello, this is my first try at the forums. I am looking at buying a 2g talon or eclipse. Im looking at spending around 6 grand. Now my problem is i dont know if i should trust the models w/turbos and alot of miles or if i should just go with a GS or RS. Im 16 and my dad is going to pay my insurance for a while until i get the car paid off and he wont let me get anything with swapped engines... any suggestions thanks

if you want something that is as fast as a slow neon get the rs or gs. if you want something fun/fast get the gst or gsx

Turbo's are pretty reliable until you start modding them. So if you start modding them, thats when you are going to start having the problems. As long as you find a stock 2g turbo, that hasn't been driven by a young guy, you should be ok. Look for cars driven by old ladies, because they seem to drive them easier than say you or me would. GS's and RS's are reliable, good looking cars, but they are kinda slow at only about 140ish horse power.

Sweet deal.

There are too many opinions about NT vs. Turbo cars, just do your research and decide which will better suit you. Read all the FAQ's on this site and skim the forums before making up your mind.

Thanks Guys, Im gonna go with the 2G Turbo if I can manage to find one in my area. If anyone has one with few mods in the Michigan or Northern Indiana/Ohio area let me know :sneaky: . I got 6 grand with your name written all over it. Thanks again

If your gonna go with a turbo DSM. Do a big favor to yourself and RESEARCH this thing quite a bit. That way you will understand what your getting yourself into. Even if it is gonna be mainly stock. The more knowledge you have now will save you money and headaches down the road. Just my 0.02
