2g body kit on 1g?

Ok, so I know it can be done...duh, anyone with time and money can do it. My question is: can anyone tell me the major differences in dimension and mounting and what it would take to put kits made for 2g eclipses onto a 1990 Talon? I don't mind some cutting, welding, and fiberglass work, just curious how much I might be lookin at to see if I want to bother.

You're looking at spending a good amount of money on it, and IMO it wont be worth it and will look like complete garbage. The 2gs have a rounded shape while the 1gs are more straight line. It wont match nor will it look the least bit clean. It'd be like putting a scion tc body kit on a corvette.

He's right the body lines wont match up, and while it would be original, nobody is going to do this or even jokingly attempt it.

I would try it. But I have nothing better to do. I like the drift style kit for the 1g's though and it's cheap, so I'll probably just do that.

Then get a job or a girlfriend (costs just as much if not more than what you wanna do) if you have nothing better to do. Have someone whos good at photochopping and ask them to put a 2g body kit on a 1g.

Thanks, but I really don't know if my girlfriend would be ok with me getting another one....maybe though I am in Utah, I should be working toward multiple wives. Anyway I don't want to have to change body lines much ### it gets to be too heavy and the cars heavy enough as is. It's an Idea I might try when I buy another TSI/GSX or whatever I find.

Agreed. I also like the lights on Mazda3's. If I pick up a 92 up I'd be very interested in doing something like that...but no on the one I have now. I like my pop-ups. They remind me to turn my lights off when I get places and not wear out my battery.
