whats the steps to take out my 5 speed awd 2g trans out. i need to take the trans out to fix a clutch problem. i dont want to have to yank the motor just to get it out. need some tips to make it fast and easy.:hmm:

If this is your first time expect a 6 hour job. Just to be ready for problems along the way.
I first used the Haynes manual to pull the tranny and figured it was horrible at describing it.
So I used this one for a GST, which is way better at describing it. The only extra you have to do is pull the DP and 6-7 bolts for the transfer case to pull off.

good luck

its not my first time i did it before my rebuild but i had taken everything apart. just dont know if i want to take just the trans out or spend a little more time and pull both motor and trans at same time. i know it was a pain inn the @$$ to take it out without the motor.

If you've already done it then why do you need to know the steps on how to do it? I'm dropping my FWD auto today, I might be going to 5 speed AWD. Can someone tell me if I could still use my GST exhaust while an AWD trans is in fwd mode?

like i said i have done it before. when i did it i took every thing apart. i dont want to make this a long process like before. i am also going to be doing this all by my self again. the only thing i remember is that the trans was a tight fit to get out. just need a quick rundown of what tips would make it a little easy for me to get it out this time. was over a year ago when i first took it all apart. jut dont know if it would be a little easyer for me to just yank it all out with my lift as one whole unit. just want this nightmare to just be over already. also i put the trans back in with the motor so i never tryed to put just the trans back in and have to line it all up so i dont have any problems .
