Hey guys, long time in the making I'm finally posting this up on a blog.
This blog will be about my ongoing DD project. I have a 95 GSX that I bought 4 years ago. 2 blocks later instead of doing a patch fix to get it back up and running I decided to finally do a full build up on it. This was my first car, but since buying it it's had crazy wiring issues, and defective odds and ends.

Anyways, somehow I drove it all the way down from Boston to Florida (where I went to school) after a long @$$ wait to get a new clutch in the car (I put in a 16g after a blown t25 which wore the stock clutch down)

Once I got down here, I continued to have crazy issues, wiring gremlins up and down the car, car wouldn't start, after a saturns alternator it finally got up and running again but then, overheating showed its ugly head to my DSM!
. So after a new thermostat, coolant flush etc.. the car finally started pushing coolant YAY blown HG
. So now a blown HG has turned into a full rebuild! Instead of replacing the HG with the head off the car, I decided to pull the long block and just about everything else!

before pulling the block

block out of the car with a mess of the hacked wiring harness

Here's the block getting torn down

Started working on the interior - the plan is to rewire the car and remove any unnecessary wires to neaten up the bay.

Here's the harness out!

Dashboard out!

A LOT cleaner now!

Did the greyforest hood mod while the hood was off!
Now to add even more confusion, once I tore down the car, I quickly realized that it was a boston car....RUST EVERYWHERE
I'll post pictures up later
Anyways, I planned to cut out the rusted sheet metal and weld in new panels but but then I decided against it. The frame rails were way far gone and the rust was incurable. So, I bought a new shell!
It definitely needs some work (and definitely new paint) but absolutely NO rust!

Got the car for $700 and sold off some of it's parts for a total of $620 so I got it for practically free and still haven't even sold the wheels and tires! ONLY DOWNSIDE - The car's a GST but we can fix that!

The airbag is off cause I had to break into the car to move it...the PO (previous owner) Gave me 3 different sets of wrong keys so I figured screw it, I'm just going to swap the cylinders from my 95 to this GST so I started by taking out the Ignition switch. Also, I'm going to do an AWD swap to this car!

Here's my 95 up on stands getting the rear subframe/ crossmember (whatever you prefer) taken out.

It's out!

The subframe is a little rusty, but I just got it sandblasted as well as a lower control arm and rear sway bar - sway bar is painted I'm waiting to weld some new metal up to the subframe before it goes in the GST
Updates coming soon!
