Hey guys, kind of a crosspost here. But I'm trying to figure out if this setup will work with a 1" lowered car for autocross without rubbing? If you have any other recommendations please let me know!

1. My car is a:
a) 1g DSM
b) 2g DSM

2. My wheel size is: This is what I am looking at.
Diameter: 17
Width: 7.5
Offset: +45

3. My current or future suspension height will be lowered
a) One inch or less
b) One to 1.5 inches
c) 1.5 - 2 inches
d) More than 2 inches.

4. If suspension is lowered, I really don't know to be honest. I figured stock which would be zero.
a) Rear camber will be adjusted to less than 1° negative.
b) Rear camber will be adjusted to within 1° to 1.5° negative.
c) Rear camber will be more than 1.5° negative.

5. Rear fender flange rolling:
a) My fenders are rolled or will be if necessary.
b) I will not roll the fenders.

6. My driving style is:
a) Street only, with no special performance requirements.
b) Street only, but I like to feel secure on twisty roads.
c) Street and Strip.
d) Street and Autocross.
e) Other

7. I have searched for and read the FAQ's, Tech Articles, and threads on wheel and tire fitment:
a) Yes, but I just need someone with experience to validate my choices.
b) No, I just want someone to tell me what to do.

I'm thinking 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 if I can fit them under the car being lowered an inch or so with ground control/koni yellows. This is going to be a weekend/autocross car only. Tires will be Hankook Ventus RS-3.

If I can get 235's under the car and on the 7.5" rim I'd be in heaven.

Let me know and thanks in advance!

Joel

You should be fine, Im running 235/40/17s on a 7.5in rim 45 offset. Lowered about 1.5 inches and have never rub once. I autox and do track days with the car. Also running Federal 595 rsr tires.

I run the RS-3 on my 17x9 45 offset with 245 40 17 with no rubbing issues. My car is lowered 1.5 inches.

The tires are amazing. I did need to roll my rear fenders. But that's almost always a given when running wide rims on a lowered dsm.

When I owned my 98 AWD Talon I used the same size tires and I had Eibach pro springs and they worked fine and never had any rubbing issues.

I have 18x8 rims with +40 offset. Tires are 235/40. Lowered nearly 2 inches and it barely rubbed on the rear fenders, right at the fender/body flange.

I’m running 17x8 Enkei RPF1’s 45mm offset, 245/40/17 tires (usually Dunlop Star Specs, but also the Toyo & B’stone), -2.5 front & -1.8 rear camber on Koni 2812 coilovers (lowered 1.25"-1.5" from stock).
The fenders are slightly rolled, but I’m not sure that they really needed it.
When I ran my 98 Talon in D Stock, it was 0 camber in the front and -1.5 rear. Running -1 in the rear will definitely help your car rotate, just not the way I’d do it though.

If you check out my gallery, there are a couple action shots (the purple 95), ignore the pic with the 18x9.5 PF1’s, was just for s&g, no way I could actually drive the car like that, at that ride height.

235’s & 7.5 will fit without rolling fenders depending on the overall tire diameter, keep it under 25” and you should be OK. 235/40/17 Yes. 235/45/17 Maybe, maybe not.
