I have two differnet questions. The first is About the BOV dump tube mod. I have read around alot of different posts and I hear alot of different responses. I have a Greddy BOV and if I perform this mod, Will it make the BOV louder, or softer?

The second question has cofused alot of shops. Some times while in second gear if I hammer it, I get full boost of about 12 p.s.i. but the car goes nowhere. It is only once in a while and only in second gear. It has never done this under a hard launch. Only seems to do this under cruising conditions. I have a scan tool at my displosal and It has not produced any codes. Just to clarify, I always use 91 octane fuel, synthetic oil, and have performed only mild mods.

Doing the dumptube mod most likely will not make the BOV any louder. Same amount of air is being released, still going to the same place.

As for your second question....
There are a few things that can cause that....
One... a slipping clutch. Easiest way to diagnose that is to put car in 4th gear at low speed... maybe 30-40 mph and go WOT. Once boost hits, you will know if its slipping.
Second... if your fuel trims are quite a ways off (from misadjusted AFC , failing o2 sensor or horribly dirty air filter.
third ... could be a small boost leak of some sort... making boost, losing it somewhere, same amount of fuel = very rich for a little bit. I doubt this one just because you mention only in 2nd gear.

If I were to guess, I would guess it is fuel trim related from past experience.

Good Luck!,

the piping is from lowes, i found it in the plumbing section near the bathroom sink type stuff, i had to cut it to fit.. it was like a a J shaped pipe. Couplings for the pipe were found at home depot in the pvc piping section. The hard pipe is an ebay special. 50 bucks shipped! the adapter and filter are from k & n though.

we dont have a lowes around here... only in milwaukee which is an hour or so away. Where else can i get a pipe that i can use for recirculation? this has been a question of mine for the past week i cant find a darn pipe that will work
