2 quick noob questions

hey just got 2 quick questions before I finish up my X-mas list for car parts that I want so here they are:

I'm planning on getting an UICP but will be using the stock 1G BOV for a while. If I buy the UICP that has a 1G flange on it would I be able to buy an adapter later so I can hook up a type-s?

I also want to get an MBC and I would like it to have two settings so I'm not constantly boosting at 14 psi (stock 14b). I know most people that have dual setting MBCs use them in FWD cars cause of traction problems, but could I use one in my AWD so I have 2 settings?

With the intercooler pipe, your kit should come with a flange that can be welded on ...take the UPI and flange to any place than can weld and you will be able to mount the TYPE S on there. But you may get lucky and just be able to redrill holes on the flange there already liek i could.

AS far as the MBC. Yes you can use any MBC on a turbo car. FWD, AWD, RWD doesnt matter. THey all do the same

do you have a boost guage yet so you know how much you are boosting before you start messing with a controller? 14psi is stock for the 14b?!

yes, I do have a boost gauge on the way and will not be instanning the MBC untill the boosdt gause is working

As far as the 14 psi, that's what I want to set the MBC to, I know stock it runs around 10-11 psi

ok good deal.. just making sure you are not using the stock gauge to measure boost. 14psi sounds good.

Just wondering but why do you want a 2 stage controller?

i wanna get a 2 stage controller becuase I don't wanna be boosting over stock levels unless I pull up to something I want to race. I also like the fact that I don't have to get out of the car to adjust the psi.

I guess if thats what you want heh. You still need to dial in the 2 settings like a normal MBC.

Just a side note I have my controller set to 15psi and I never hit full boost unless i am WOT. My city driving i hardly hit boost and might get 5 psi.

you can find lots and lots of posts about which the good dual setting MBC's are so go check em out before you buy one.
