Okay here is the deal I got a short block used after I had it checked out and all of that good stuff, I got the long block all back toghter timing belt on everything looks good, I put the timing cover on and the balancer back on and double check everything and the balancer does not line up with the TDC mark on the timing cover. So I think the balancer is junk so I buy a new one-guess what it is the same about 1/2 inch off the cover. So i pull the timing belt back off and the crank pulleys both the timing belt and the balancer pulley off and swap them out for my old 2.0 setup put it all back togther and all the marks are perfect? WTF? Does the 2.3 use and differnt balancer of crank pulleys? Has anyone ever heard of this? And yes I pulled #1 cylinder plug and checked TDC that way but it is hard to tell which one is correct. So you use 2.0 pulleys (crank and balnacer and 2.0 balancer correct)? How was the engine running this way before? It is is a 6bolt 2.3stroker but came out of a 2g if that matters at all? I just want to make sure I am timed perfect before I drop this bi*** in. Thanks for the help

The only difference in a 2.3L is the 100mm crank and the stroker pistons...everything else remains std. Nothing changes besides those two factors...and of course torque!

Then why with the crank pulleys he had on there. the timing marks are not the same? The balancer belt pulley was perfect but the balancer was off a 1/2 inch on the TDC mark on the cover.
