St.Albert,
So i remember someone asking about the stroker crank and i think he was talking about it being blue. Well its kinda blue kinda grey , whatever color it is.

I just got the block and all the goodies back from the machine shop, and they said that my clearances when they blue printed the block were .003-.0035 across the mains and the rods. So i got it home and checked them for myself. And got a little different numbers.

stock clearances are (.0008-.0024) on the MAINS
(.001-.0023) on the RODS

and i got on the mains 1(.0015)2(.002)3(.001)4(.002)5(.002)
So i am a little concerned about the thrust bearing #3 has .001, i was told by howell that i should be on the bigger end of the clearances since this is a performance motor and should be less friction. (they are calling the people who made the crank to see what they want for clearance), but said they would get back to me in a week or so.... Expected from howell they take forever to do anything.

Was wondering where i should be on the clearances, and what type oil to run i was told to run thicker oil like 15w30 or even 20w30... because of the turbo upgrade.

Im going to bring all the stuff back to the shop, and i want the crank polished to whatever spec across the board and they goin to have to balance it all again.... and i ain't payin

So i've been busy over here and finally got her together and on the final stages before i drop her in. after goin through 2 machine shops and $1200 later we have .002 across all mains and rods, had to cut it .010 and go under sized bearings. Damit i blame Howell LOL.

Just got to hook up the Msns, and start the tuneing...Oh and the exhaust LOL can't run that open too :p .But anyway heres some pic's.

Yeah focker, I must say that looks very nice.....and that underdrive pulley really makes me wish I did mine when my motor was out

But hey when your up and running and tuned, I wanna see some dyno charts to see how different the torque and power curves are.

Looks very nice!

What color did you paint the valve cover?

Thanks, alot of time was spent posishing that freaking DOHC 2.0l out of the valve cover, It is the stock one just spruced up a bit, i went with the color of my car, deep green met..

For sure ill post the dyno sheet, and a 1/4 mile time, Just wanna break in the new pistion and make sure all thoughs new ring seat then we see what she will do. :thumb:

Might try to do a tunning write up, im not promissing anything, but we'll see how it goes. :tease:

your valve cover looks really good i like the two tone with one side green and the other side polished

everything looks really good and well put toghter

Thanks DSM-ZERO

I am running a stage 2 T3/T4 .50 trim.
almost got it ready to go just tring to get the MS to work, I like how the valve cover turned out was worth the tedious labour.

heres a more recient pic of the engine bay....

Looks like you went with treadstone for the majority of your turbo set-up. Looks good.

does anyone that uses the mega squirt extra1 have the file: msns-extra.ini.029q , in their mtCfg folder. My unit needs that file and i already have the updated config settings i just need the ini.

They didn't have the "Q" file but i just ripped the 29y4 which is the lastest version, and she worked.

I currently have her running but still tryin to get my idle right.
Can you send me your current spec's so i can play with them from there. I think i'm pretty close to where I should be but would like something to compare it too..

Thanks,
Nate

make sure you have the map sensor corrected too, if you have a 4 bar make sure in the settings its a 4 bar and barro correction is off . Seems simple but you could have forgotten with all the other excitement you have going on. Congrates on everything else. Looks really good :)

I'm still having problems with the map readings. i got all of the map settings correct and barro off. can get it to idle but really rough still and i've checked everywhere no vac leaks.

Tested the map just by a vaccum pump and seems to read fine down to 15 kpa.

I have some split duration cams and expected a higher map reading but in the 30-40 kpa.

And still today i get a 90 kpa reading when i got it to almost idle.

Any Ideas,

Nate
