i just got a quick question. my 1st gear grinds i need to change the synchro. do i have to take apart the whole tranny or can i just take off the part where the transmission hooks to the motor does any one know how to do that? does anyone have a diagram of the 1g awd tranny cant seem to find one?

To change out the syncros in the trans requires tranny removal, then complete disassembly. Unfortunately if the syncro is worn out, there's a good chance the gear may need replacing as well, as the engagement teeth are likely worn way down, not to mention a number of other components in there. I've disassembled numerous transmissions, but haven't assembled any. This would be pretty advanced on the difficulty level.
