I have done more searching than I ever wanted to to try and find a tech article or write up on this and have come up empty handed.

Quick overview:
I am buying 2 DSMs from my cousin. Ones a 1994 GS auto and the others a 90s (not sure what year) GSX. The 94 is the nicer of the 2 and the only one with a title. What I am wanting to do is swap out the motor from the GSX to the GS and swap it to a 5 spd. I researched the AWD swap on the 1st gen but it is not worth the effort. The GSX is a 5 speed so I have every part but the trans.

Is there a write up I can be pointed to?

Will post pics when the cars are at my house.

Do you not have a transmission for the gsx? If it has a transmission you can get a VCE for it and use that transmission. You will have to swap engine wire harness and ECUs and what not but it is doable. Hardest part in my opinion is the pedal assy.

Yea the GSX is a full running car minus the turbo seals being bad.

Tell me more about this VCE and where to get them and how labor kintense they are to put in.

Im not new to modding vehicles and went to school for auto tech and was a diesel mechanic the last 2 years.

There are several vendors who sell them sheptrans is one.

You have to open up the transmission case thats all I can tell you. I know nothing more. I have never changed one out. VCE = viscus coupling eliminator. It is a must have if you are going to run an awd transmission in fwd.

Thank you. this will actually save me a headache LOL. I will get one ordered when I order all the seals and gaskets for the motor (been sitting a while)

You helped immensely :thumbup

how about a write up for the 5 spd swap then?

I should have the cars here inm the next few days :)
