I thought I just had air pockets in my coolant lines because my engine bay would seem a bit hot. So I drained the coolant to do a flush before adding new coolant and then trying to burp it.
I have a spill-free funnel that I attached to the thermostat housing cap (i have a Fluidyne radiator). I add the flush and then topped off with water from the hose. I started the car to let it run for 5 minutes but after 3 minutes the fans kicked on and the coolant started to overflow out of the funnel. Kinda like when your toilet backs up and you have to reach down and cut off the water.
I kinda confused on the cause of it overflowing. The thermostat is 1G 190* (88c) and works. I pulled it the other day to make sure I didn't have a stuck thermostat. I submerged it in boiling water the other day and it fully opened in about a minute.
