I really like how the 2G front end looks on talons. I own a 92 TSi, and I already need a new hood. And while the car is away for the winter getting motor and everything else done, I was thinking.... wouldn’t a 2G front end look sweet? I like the front end that looks like this:

This is Sean’s (tevenor) 96, and the guy I bought my 92 from. I really like the front end on the car. Is it do-able? I think I would need; bumper, lights, right and left corner panels, hood and anything else? Or would this just never work?

Sure it's doable. The things The question is how cost effective would it be? I bet it would take a lot of work. I doubt the front quarter pannel will line up with the front edge of the door.
You would probably have to cut out the headlight area to make the 2gs fit, You would have to make all your own brackets for the hood and quarter pannels. I would imiagine where the quarter pannel bolts to the unibody right under the hood has a different line on the 1G and 2G so you would have to fill in any difference in space.
I bet it's been done

For the time and cost I don't think it'd be worth it in the end..the 2Gs are more round than 1Gs..so to me it wouldn't flow right. Just my opinion.

Unless you are very proficient in body repair skills, I just can't imagine you could make that swap look anything but hacked and ugly, no offense but thats alot of work. It would definitely look different ( :thumb: on the idea), but take a look at some different body mods other people had done, there are some really nice looking 1Gs around with mods that wouldn't take as much work.

It's been done

I've since then got new rims and tires and a FMIC.
I think it looks a ton better with the FMIC IMHO

When it gets a little nicer out I will take some new pictures with a better digital camera.

I did it to try something new, got the bumper for free so I thought what the hell.
Ive had a lot of commets, good and bad, I really dont mind. But a lot of people think it looks a lot better with the FMIC there, I think the car looks pretty good at night.

So I'll try to get some more current pictures.
