1gb or 95-96 head CAS

I have a few questions. First of all i bought a 7 bolt head from the classified here and i forgot to ask what year the head was. took the head and block to a machine shop here in town and now its almost ready. I came up with this problem though. I have a 98 so therefore my CAS is different from the 95-95 and the 1gs 7 bolts. the head is not a 2gb so it has to be a 1g or the 95-96 kind? anyway in telling them apart? and another question if it is one of these is there any way i can use my CAS or do i need to get one that fits? I read somewhere u can drill into it but dont really know much about it?
