1G 1g vs 2g door handles

I recently broke off my driver side door handle on my 1g. And after a lot of searching online I realised that there are very few driver side 1g door handles available to me, but there are lots for 2gs. Which look fairly similar, so would a 2g door handle fit in a 1g , and also would those really nice aluminum door handles fit in the 1g?

1G handles rarely break, no the 2g handle won't work on a 1g.

I broke mine earlier this winter, your best bet is gonna be if someone has a spare of the same color, maybe post of a wtb ad in the classifieds. Otherwise, you'll just have to settle for whatever you can find. My white 1g now has a black door handle that I got from performance partout which luckily, doesn't look too bad. Unfortunately, I bet with a blue car you're gonna have a harder time finding a different color that doesn't completely clash. You could probably paint one pretty easy though if you have the paint, tools, and knowhow.

No they are not the same. There are tons of new 1G door handles for sale on ebay, apparently someone still makes them.
