Anyone had any problems with a downpipe getting stuck to an 02 housing? My downpipe that didnt have a gasket won't come off of my 02 housing no matter how hard i pry on it.

Solution
the reason your having problems is the evo 02 housing. it comes out at a different angle and the the downpipe hits the tcase. you either need to get the downpipe flange rewelded, switch to a standard o2 housing or get a downpipe custom made. I don't know of any vendors offering a downpipe for with the evo 02 housing
I think what you might have here is a slight melted together peices of metel??? Or really rusted together??? Anyone have any input on this? This is all I could come up with. Maybe pour the rust penetrent on it and tap it with a hammer....

the 02 housing and downpipe are brand new, been on the car for about a week

yes, there are no bolts in place. the whole pipe is disconnected completely from the car except for where it meets the 02 housing

Are you sure you got all of the bolts hold it. There is one on the down pipe about 3" down that only thing i can think of. If you got that one then you got problems. Can you take the whole thing out?

Looks like you may have to remove the o2 housing from the turbo and try to remove it from outside of the car. I can't see any reason why it would be stuck, being as it is brand new.

there are no bolts on the pipe, trust me

is it possible to get to all 4 of the 02 housing to turbo bolts without taking the turbo loose?

Since the downpipe is connected to the o2 housing at an angle, the two bolts that the downpipe connects to (attached to the o2 housing) sometimes hold the downpipe in place to a point when you cannot move it. The best way to unconnect these is to slightly unbolt the o2 housing from the turbo, but not all the way off, and then remove the downpipe. This will allow the two bolts from the o2 housing to move around more in the downpipe bolt holes (where the bolts go into to bolt down with a nut). I hope this is clear. Pretty much the idea is to loosen the whole system up to free up space for the downpipe to move around.

I didnt get one with the other parts like I was supposed to and I HAD to have a car to drive. It is has been the biggest pain, it isnt even the right downpipe, it is for a 2g. I finally got the 1g today, and now this.

Which downpipe will fit an 1g AWD Automatic transmission with a Mitsu Evo III exhaust manifold, Non Mitsu Evo 3 GT Turbo, and Mitsu Evo III 02 housing without rubbing the transfer case and has room for a test pipe/cat in between the downpipe and catback?

Full Line Exhaust has sent me two cat eliminating downpipes that seem to be identical and both rub the transfer case at the flex section. It seems that they are for 2g rather than my 1g.

being auto doesn't mean you need a special dp. any good awd dp will work. but it depends on what you want to spend.

dejonpowerhouse has their own dp now which i have (im also auto awd) and it fit perfect. they also have the apexi dp. but i don't think the apexi will fit an evo o2. but dejon makes their own evo o2 dp.

rre also has an evo dp im pretty sure. but i don't know much about their dp's.

anyway, the dejon worked for me. nice looking piece and has help up most of this winter with salty gross roads.
