I am wondering why I can not find any information on using a 6bolt rotating assembly in a 2g 7bolt block.

can this be done, I have a 6 bolt stroker rotating assembly and a 2g 7bolt block and my question is can they be put together.

If they can this would be an easier way to convert to 6 bolt rather than making a 2g oil pump work on a 1g block, or converting to a 1g crank sensor.

I am going to be useing this rotating assembly regardless and it is going into a 98 talon. I hope the answer is yes u can put a 6 bolt rotating assembly into a 2g block, as this would be easier than converting the oil pump or cas.

Cranks are different.

I know the cranks are different, that is not my question.
my question is can u put a 1g crank in a 2g block
what is the difference between the 1g block and the 2g block other than oil pump mounting and cylinder head bolt size.

No, you cannot put a 6bolt crank in a 7bolt block. The main bearing caps are completely different.

in what way, are the caps thinner or thicker.
or is the diameter of the caps smaller or larger.
if it was simply smaller round diameter could u not machine the caps to have a larger diameter aka resize the main caps.

so I found the answer to my own question, tonight.

I tore the 7 bolt crank out of the blown 2g block and set the 6 bolt in and here is the results. the main journals are different, they are thinner there is no way they will work. I was hoping they would be the same with a difference like the diameter of the 7 bolt crank main would be smaller allowing for resizing to make it fit. o well it would have been nice.

to bad no one makes an adapter bearing kit with extra thick thrust bearings to make it work. the kit would have to have a thrust bearing on each journal to cover the extra surface area of the crank, I think that would work and create a new market for the 7 bolt blocks with a 6 bolt crank also making the swap nearly direct bolt on with factory parts minus the flywheel.
