im in need of a prommed ecu. is there any way i can have my stock ecu socketed or would i just need to get a pre-socketed ecu

Is your stock ecu a eprom ecu? If it is you can get it socketed with a custom chip

FWIW, we can do a conversion on your non-EPROM to EPROM.

Non-EPROM to EPROM conversion

You would still need a chip of some sort.

You can do what Tom said and send your ECU to ECM to have it converted to accept Eprom chips, or you could find an ECU that is already an Eprom and send it to ECM or someone else to be socketed.

Also, you should look into getting ECMLink. It is very customizable, so if you make a change you don't have to send out the chip to be reflashed. ECMLink is also fairly user friendly as well.
