I'm buying a 1991 GST from a guy for $600 because he siezed the bottom end by starting it without oil in it. I have a pretty much bone stock 1996 GST, and I was wondering what stuff can I take and put on my car? It's pretty well built: Apex'i SAFC, full 3" exhaust, koni yellows, seneca race rims, and an MBC. Thats all the guy told me, but I'm sure he has more stuff he didn't mention.

It's possible you can see if you do a search. Would I do it? No... too much work if you ask me.

It's possible, What do you think a 6 bolt swap is?? They put the 89-92 4g63 engine in a 92.5-99 car. You can reverse this and go from the 2g to the 1g but I think you'd be better off finding the 6 bolt that goes in the 90 and doing it that way.

yeah i don't get how it would be hard? All i would need is the mounts and a 90 CAS correct? Do the 2g CAS's plug into 1ga's?

EDIT: forgot to mention in the original post that the 2g has a 6bolt swapped into it

LOL, man... then do the swap. You were making it sound like you were going to put a 7 bolt into a 6 bolt car.

Would i need to pickup a 90 CAS? The motor is a 6bolt block on a 2g head with a 98 CAS on it at the moment. Also would i need to pickup a 1g powersteering pump? A/C Compressor? The car currently has all the 2g accessories on it. Thanks guys!

im pretty sure the 2g has 3 tranny mounts and the 1g has 1

that would be an issue

Yes you would need the 90 cas, 1g power steering pump, 1g alternator, but I'm not sure about the a/c, I would just use one from a 1g, or actually I don't use a/c, so I wouldn't put it back in. You also need the 1g starter plate.

Also, What problems would i run into with the wiring harness plugs? Anyone happen to have a pin out of the 1g wiring harness as to where all the plugs go. Searched for a pin out of all the wiring harness engine electrical plugs and only found it for a 2g, if anyone wants to help me out on that i'd appreciate it a whole lot :)

So took in a 2g AWD TSI talon and i thought it would have sold in an instant. Well two months later i still havent sold it and even dropped my price all the way down to 600 bones would take the car. Well now ive got a buddy that needs some money and he wants to sell me his 92 TSI talon.

his car doesnt have much done to it besides:
Stainless Down Pipe
Maf translator with the ls-1 maf
Boost gauge
Stock rebuilt head

Now im thinking about pulling some parts out of my 2g and put them on the 1g. This would be a full stainless magnaflow exaust. Hks blow off valve and then swap the seats since the 2g has nice leather seats. Now since im not having any luck selling the 2g im thinking about pulling the motor out of it, and the back half of the drivetrain.

The 2g IS AN AUTO, and the 1g is a 5 speed, so of course the tranny in the 1g would need to be swapped, But would this be a do able swap? Im not looking at doing it right away, just running the rest of the exaust on the 1g and swapping seats, but i figure i can strip and scrap the rest of the 2g. If anybody has some pointers on what else i should pull out of the 2g to stick in the corner for another time that would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

ill have to look into the exaust, i actually got the car with the exaust in the back seat and only the down pipe on it. The previous owner couldnt tell you if the sky was blue so for all i know it may be fore a 1g.

Anybody else?

2g exhaust manifold and o2 housing flow better than the 1g units. The 2g throttle body elbow is an upgrade to the stock 1g counterpart. You could also swap in the 2g MAF for better flow (tuning required).

on the 1g it has a maf translator with an ls-1 maf so i think that flow wise it should be good, and the translator lets me tune with just a few push buttons.
