Iv read the other forums about porting a 2G head and air flow suffering. I get the concept, but i have a really good deal on a 1g magnus smim, my question is can i make it work at all flow wise? I heard about spacers and tapering them to port match the manifold and that seems like the best way of doing it, even if there is half the hp gain of it on a 1g head its still a gain and its cheap enough to be worth it.
But i need some opinions to decide if there will be a gain.
A know its a beat to death topic i just did not find enough good info searching.

Ported the head will hurt the spooling of the turbo but will provide better top-end. However I don't think you'll gain too much if you're running a 16g. That it a fair small turbo and doesn't put out that much airflow.

Your super 16G IIRC has the airflow capability of a 20G in a 16G footprint.

You'll see minimal gains up top, but you will see gains none the less. Your low end torque is definitely going to suffer, and you will notice a loss in mid range torque as well. This may not be the best idea on a DD. Your 2G Intake will support well into the 400hp range, and a port-matched 1G throttle body will probably net you a better DD result than adding an SMIM.

You could always buy the intake, and sell it again for more than what you bought it for, maybe make a bit of cash off of it.

sorry for not updating the profile but i plan on running a hx 35, bep housing , sb tubular mani, external wg, and all the fuel and boost i can throw at it the head is ported and 5 angle valve jobbed and 272's are probly going in. The car is expected 450 range, does this change the manifold making a difference or should i stick with the stocker and maybe extrude hone her?
