So I have a 91 fwd dsm and had an awd intermediate shaft that lined up fine, had to get 2 shafts before I got it to work the first time and noticed differences between the bracket that did work and the one that didn't work. Now I swaped a rebuilt 90 fwd transmission in my car and the exact same intermediate shaft that worked with my 91 transmission doesn't work with my 90 transmission because the bolt holes don't quite line up. Is it possible that I need a 90 intermediate shaft bracket to make it work or did I do something wrong? I did read about lining up the transmission correctly but since all of my transmission bolts are in and torqued down correctly I figure it would be hard for the tranny/engine pins to not be alligned.
Anyone know the numbers for a 90 intermediate shaft bracket?
Here is a pic of the 2 brackets that I have, the one on the left is the bracket that worked with my 91 tranny/engine before.
