More than likely youll have the random cyl misfire code pop up.

If you dont have DSM link, youll have to wire in a 10k potentiometer into the factory baro pressure wire off the ECU. PIN number 85. Basically its a volume control knob and you have to turn up the resistance. As long as one of 3 or 4 (i cant remember) of the ECU's criteria that it checks for this random cyl misfire code match, it will not throw it. One of them being the baro pressure at or above 76kpa i believe is the number, hence the potentiometer needing wired in to add resistance to let the ECU think its met.

you need a 2g coolant temp sensor, a 2g FIAC, 2g TPS sensor and the MAP sensor off the 2g. I just did a 6bolt swap on my 95 talon tsi awd. The injector pins for the ECU should be swapped over and the firing order shoud be changed. So cylinder 1and 4 should go on the side of the coil pack furthest from the motor and then 2 and 3 go on the other. Let me know if you have anymore questions. So far i have not run into the random cylinder misfire, fingers crossed.

He wont have to do the firing order swap, thats only 95-96 cars unless you have link to invert the CAS.

when i got the car the CAS was not hooked up to anything but there was a wire that somebody made. the car still has the factory wires in it so i hooked one side up at the 2gn cam sensor pigail and pluged the 1gn CAS into the other end. The car started and ran ok i guess, i didnt let it run but 5 seconds or so. Thats when i figured out there was no oil return lin on the turbo.

Yeah thats what youre supposed to do. When i did mine i just clipped the pigtail off the stock crank sensor and soldered it in to the 1g CAS harness to make it plug and play, then the 4th wire i just tapped into the 2g CAS wire (the blue one) and rocked it.

PS how much of a mess did that lack of oil return line leave you? haha

as far as i know it has the 2g map, the tps im not sure of ill have to look. What is a FIAC. Not sure about the ECU injector pins?? I looked up all the firing orders from 90-99 and they are all the same. i guess ill put on the oil tubes, start it up an see what it does. I dont have a DSMlink thing, but I got a genesis scan tool with datastrem that i can watch

not much maybe a qt or so the car was sittin for a while so there was instant oil pressure

just a question about it, but can i run the intake tube (mass air-turbo) to the intake and not even hook the turbo up inline now?? i will not be on the throttle to spool up the turbo, just at an idle, to make sure everything is good. I dont have the intercooler pipes! but i wanna make sure it runs?? Thanks

Yeah that worked for me when i was building mine and didnt have the piping at the time.

FIAC is fast idle air control. It is on the bottom of your throttle body and has a (i believe) 6 pin connector that plugs into it.

well the oil lines came in today im going to put them on then see what it does. hopefuly its not hammering. LOL If so well just slam a v8 in it LOL just kiddin!!!

The P0300 Random Misfire MIL can also be turned off in the Perphery Bits of the 1998/99 Flash ECU. Much cheaper than a DSMLink. ;)
If you are running the 1G intake manifold, how is the 2G MDP/MAP sensor plumbed in? JMF makes an adapter. Or, you can turn off the EGR and MDP in the Periphery Bits. PM me if you are getting any error codes.
Be sure the TPS and IPS are calibrated properly:

i guess it has the 2g intake on it cause everything is pluged in with no splicing or anything. Well I got the turbo oil lines, they are wrong. Go figure i got them off of ebay. Just the return line will not work. The plate that bolts to the oil pan is not right, its like a bulkhead fitting that screws out from inside the pan. I guss im going to c if i can find a stock one somewhere?? It just sucks that i cant do anything till i get that line!
