OK, I've just bought a VIS hood off of ebay, and it cost me $460.00 USD to get it to my door.
This hood was advertised to be a 90-91 Eclipse OEM VIS carbon fiber hood (with flip up lights). When it arrived I noticed it was 6 inches shorter than it was supposed to be, and two inches smaller in width. The hood doesn't fit. I called www.jtrsport.com (people who sold me the hood) and the hood serial # (90MITECL-OEM010) is the correct serial # for my car. I called VIS, and even THEY SAID it was correct, however I posted pictures of the hood (http://www.nofadz.com/~sonic/) and both companies agree that the hood was made for a different car. Now both companies are pointing fingers at each other as to who is responsible for the mistake (neither one want to admit they are wrong). What could have happened? I know there are quite a few ppl on this board with 90-91 OEM VIS hoods, and they fit. Maybe this one was made for the 1.8L? Are the 1.8L 2.0L and 2.0L Turbo hood sizes even different? If neither company wants to claim responsibility what kind of legal action can I take? aRGH.
