Quick question... I've installed the TT in my 1G and it seems to work fine manually but I can get the Auto function to work until I tap into the speed signal from the ECU or cluster...

Any tips on a good place to tap into this line?

-Raffi

As you know the adapter harness only addresses the connections to the ignition/accessories... e-brake and speed are on a separate 2 wire connector.

But to answer your question, yes I am using the Greddy adapter harness.

I was under the impression everything would work with the PNP harness and not require tapping of any wires. I installed one years ago, on a 2g, and everything worked fine off the harness. I have to install one again this time on a 1g with the harness.

I don't want to disagree with you and get into it but it would be the same on a 2g. This is a Full Auto timer and the speed signal is not in the harness adapter. You probably installed a normal (manual time setting) TT that doesn't need this signal.

Back on track... Any tips on where to tap the speed signal.

One more time... I am not hard wiring a TT... I am trying to tap the speed signal from the ecu or cluster to make the full auto function work. I can tap at the ecu but if there is an easier place to get this signal it would be great to know.

Sorry the other guy confused the thread.

The ecu would probably be the easiest place to get the speed signal from since it's right in the center console, probably near where your TT is mounted anyway.

That's what I figured... thought it might be easier behind the cluster... I really don't want to pull the ECU out (again).

Thanks!
