1g fwd shifting problems!!!

Alright I bought a 1g talon FWD turbo automatic long ago and had a blown head gasket, so instead of just fixing it I built a race head for it just for some extra power, anyway I never drove the car when I first got it either except to pull it in the garage... I got it all back toghether and the car runs like shit, doesnt want to shift on its own but will just not when it should... however if i manually shift it the car seems to rune a LITTLE better. So im looking for some ideas on if I got something unhooked or something hooked up in correctly. thanks Jesse.
